Happy New Year

Okay, Quick post. :)

I have shift on New Year's eve and I cannot afford going to work without even greeting everybody a Happy New Year! I haven't posted enough so I won't be able to make a review of my blog for the past year, maybe next year, I will give a recap of how my year went. I already have a scheduled post, it will be published later at exactly 12:01 am.

A New Year is always about new beginnings. Let's all make use of it to influence others - for the better.

My goal next year is really to correct all the things I've done in the past, to achieve greater things, to make new friends, and to influence others. What yours?

With that being said,

Orange doesn't own any of the photos, all were taken from Google. :)

Bebang is my supervisor. She is really funny, she talkative, sometimes she’s annoying, but generally she is nice. She always treat us at night, most of the time, we just pig out on ice cream and pizza.

Last night, I notice her picture on her yahoo messenger.

So I ask her where did she got these pictures. Instead of answering my question, she just sent me the whole folder of her avatars. Eventually, She has a a complete set of Avatar for the whole week. Since it was Thursday yesterday, this was her avatar.

Here are the rest of her photos. :)

For Monday, since she just came from her off, she is still sleepy. Haha.

For Tuesday, This is her when she is pumped up. Gotta bring the game face on. Haha

On Wednesday, she is full of energy. :)

Come Thursday, She is confused. :)

The day before her rest day, Friday, she is so excited. :)

She has Saturday Sunday off, so every Saturday, she is happy!

And before she go back to work, every Sunday, she is worried and still don’t want to go back to work. :)

Sunday I love Bebang’s avatars!

Can someone tell me where can you get this cute creature, I want to have a male version of it. Hahaha… Better if it comes in Orange. :)

Black and White

When I entered the movie house yesterday, there was a fight.

Basing it on how the conversations of the two characters involved in this story went, let’s just call them Black and White. That was the colors of their shirts. Black sat behind me and White was sitting on the lane behind Black. White was with a girl, who placed her feet on the chairs in front of her. Black got annoyed and told the girl to put her feet down. And then, White confronted Black saying that she should not shout a girl.

They were going in circles. Black said that she doesn’t own the girl any explanation, because since it was a movie house, as etiquette, the girl’s feet must stay on the ground and not everywhere else. However, White was irritated because Black was shouting at his girl.

Both of them have their points. However, they were both unstoppable.

I was still enjoying my hotdog sandwich when a girl shouted that, “Ikaw kasi (Black) sumasagot ka pa, tumahimik ka na, para sa ating lahat, nakakahiya. Ikaw din Sir (White), tumigil na kayo, hindi na matatapos ito.” At that moment, I want to give the girl a hug. She sat besides Black and she was brave enough to even tell her companion that.

Yeah, the conversation was stupid. But its human nature that we always tend to make things complicated. Thinking that it all started with forgotten movie etiquette, tsk tsk. I’m ashamed of the girl who missed her manners; however, I am proud of the girl who strive for peace. J

I always believe in standing for what you believe is right. I am also aware that you should voice out your concern when something is wrong. But like any war, it is also important that you choose your own battles.

Enteng ng Ina Mo

I have faith in Ai Ai delas Alas when it comes to movies. I really find all of her movies entertaining, so when I found out that they will make another movie about Ina and her family, I was really excited. I thought that her entry to the MMFF last year will be the last story of her family, but who will not want to have a movie with Vic Sotto, right?

At first, I was really hesitant watching the movie. I know it will be entertaining and it will be worth the money that you will spend however, not having Wenn DeRamas as a director really gave me doubts. A DeRamas film is really different. His movies will really capture your heart and will make you a cry baby once the actors started crying.

Hence, the movie never failed me. It was really fun watching it.

Ai Ai and Eugene were so wacky. They were so natural with their skills. You can notice that even Ai Ai wants to laugh with how Eugene portrayed her character. I love the scene where Eugene was pushing a wall for Ai Ai to cry on, she even told her to go up and down while pouring her heart out. That was hilarious.

When Ruby punched Jose, I really can’t stop laughing. It was unexpected and so realistic that though I know it was acting, it was so believable. Vic Sotto’s acting was also okay. I cannot say that it was Best Actor material though; for sure he can do better.

All in all, the movie was epic. It was hilarious and will definitely be on the top list of the Blockbuster movies. Will it win a Best Picture award? I’m not sure, though. But, for me, what makes a great movie is the fact that aside from its entertaining, it must be different, the story must be something that you want to share, and it must teach a moral lesson. If this will be the guidelines of the judges for the MMFF, definitely Enteng ng Ina mo will win.

YM Got Hacked!

It has been an awesome Christmas so far… Until I found out that someone used my yahoo messenger account.

I got the news from my officemate who asked me to call him last night. He told me that someone was chatting my office mate abroad. Immediately, I panicked. He then told me that what was said was really not nice. He mentioned some profane words. Some were even sex related. Since I don't have an access to a computer the moment he called me, He changed my messenger password right away.

Today, I found out who used my account.

Since most of my blog post were done on an Internet Cafe on Makati. I ask the person who manages the shop if he saw someone who used my account. I told him what happened. He then said that some rascal kids were using my account yesterday, and once he saw it, he immediately log it out. We looked at the messenger’s history, and there I found the words that was said.

Example, a friend from Greece chatted “Merry Christmas,” and the kid replied, “Hindi ako si LJ, P.I. mo hahaha.”

Alarming, right?

Good thing my officemate knew me pretty well and she was aware that I was never chat such stuff.

My friend Ralph, who manage the shop, was furious about the incident. He was more mad compared to how I reacted. He called the kid and confronted him until he admitted that he was the one who send those messages. The kid never said the truth, though. Ralph even called the kid’s mom to inform her what happened.

The mom talked to me. “Bakit naman po kasi naiwan niyong bukas ang account niyo? Hindi ba pwedeng humingi nalang ng pasensiya sa nangyari?” Ralph did most of the talking. I remained calm throughout the situation. My friend said that the account was accidentally left with my password on it, and though it was left at such way, as a way of respect, his child should not even touch it, hence, say such words.

The mom was apologetic though, I just informed her that I already did most of the apologizing, and informed my officemates that some rascals just used my account. If ever she did something rude, definitely she will hear something from me. I am nice, but the bitch inside of me rise when needed.

I know part of the incident was my fault, and I am taking full responsibility on it. Promise, I will make sure that everything is logged out before I even leave the shop. Or maybe, I should start saving for my own pc na. Hahaha!

Merry Christmas guys. :)

You Will Always be My Christmas Star

Merry Christmas! :)

Bukod kay Bro…

You will always be my crazy little Orange Stars!

Shine Brighter!

The Wicked Queen

She walks through the night,

with the moon as her backdrop, and

a basket of apples on her left hand.

With jealousy on her heart,

and the insecurities that needs to end.

Slowly, she walks through the dark forest,

leading to only one direction.

With only one purpose.

One plan.

One goal.

She wants to be The Fairest.

She wants the pain to end,

she wants the jealousy to cease,

She wants Snow White dead.

Then she finally see her,

and the rage intensified.

She became more envious,

more dangerous,

But She must not notice,

her wicked ways must be kept secret,

or she will not be the Fairest.

She pleaded the lady to let her in,

then informed her that the apple

were meant for wishing.

Finally, Snow White took a bite,

Then fall to an endless sleep.

The Queen rejoiced because her plan was a success

And now it’s all up to Prince Charming

To wake the damsel in distress.

With one kiss.

All it take is just one kiss.

But Prince Charming hasn’t come into his senses.

He is still confuse whether Snow White is meant for him

Maybe true love won’t save Snow White this time.

Snow White and the Queen were together last night. It was not a pretty site. I was slightly drunk when I wrote these words on my phone. :)

Snow White

Someone was singing a lousy version of Better Days when I first saw him. I was standing at the Bar’s balcony when he came in. He was wearing black, with body protruding on his muscular torso, and his smile will really caught every one’s attention.

I tried to remain calm and did my best not to act that I like him. Well, I do like him, but my friends were there and I know that they also got their eyes on him too. We didn’t talk. I avoided him. Though my attention was with my friends, all my thoughts were geared towards him.

I want to share a table with him, get to know him, to get a glimpse of his dreams, ideas and how crazy he can get. His smile mesmerized me, and it will be better if I can see it up close. The way he looked was really perfect – black eyes that seems to see someone’s soul, skin as white as snow, lips as red as a rose, and a smile that was like a ray of sun in a gloomy, depressing day.

He can be a male version of Snow White, and me, well I am just nobody.

When I told my friends that I am on my way home, he said that I should’ve have stayed. “You're not drunk yet,” he commented.

I really wanted to stay but I really don’t like what I felt. Something was wrong that night.

Since I broke up with my last partner, this was the first time I’ve experienced it again. The sudden chill, thoughts rambling on your mind, and your heart beating like crazy, one thing was sure; I’m attracted to Snow White. The wall that I’ve created for so long suddenly crashed before my eyes. All of the things that I’ve done to even ignore liking somebody became useless. And it is all because of Snow White.

Hence, my friends were also attracted to him. I can sense it. He was their new target and everyone will fight tooth and nail just to get a piece him. Who will not fall for him? He was a good trophy boyfriend, and probably, he does well in bed as well. I love competitions, but I really choose my battles.

Snow White is really a good prize, but is he worth it all the trash talking and back stabbing that my friends and I will go through just to have him?

Thoughts started ranting on my head. The insecurities that I tried to neglect ever since started flourishing in all of my veins. And the doubts, yes, it won't stop. I started imaging what a perfect date will be? What should I wear? Where will I take him? It's stupid, I know. But I think that was the closest I can get to him, in my silly and crazy dreams.

Then, the reason why I don't want to fall in love again erupted like a dormant volcano ready to create a devastating scene. It always happen.

I always fall for people who will never even notice me.

You Are Like Gravity

You are like Gravity.

The way you stare makes me still.

It keeps me grounded to the earth I am standing.

And, no matter what I do to rise up,

You pull me,

You make me fall,

and then you let me crash.

You’re love is like gravity,

Please set me free.

I was drunk last Saturday, and when I got home, these thoughts were rumbling on my head.

Living alone, I opted not to get a television at my place. Aside from it will just consume much space; the television is really a good distraction. It will eat too much of your time which I’d rather use to sleep. I am also not fond of the kind of shows that are in season today. I watch GLEE and ANTM on the internet cafĂ© which is way better, because I can watch it without commercials and I can play it over and over again.

Since I really don’t watch that much TV shows, basically, I am clueless with what is happening. Most of the news that I knew, I read it online or probably someone posted it on Facebook.

When I went online this morning, this was the only thing on the news.

How depressing. There were more upsetting photos however I will not be able to handle it.  No wonder its been for the past days, because there was a storm somewhere.

News said that its chasing Ondoy in terms of the number of casualties. Oh my, oh my, I hope Ondoy will just remain on top and maintain its title.

Most were killed because of the flash floods, tsk tsk… We should really get serious with taking care of Mother Nature.

I think right now is the best time to really pray for all those who have suffered because of Sendong. Aside from prayers, we should start helping them.

You can help!

Christmas Party and Paul Wesley

What is so cool about receiving gifts? Getting the gifts that you always wanted. :)

Last night, we had our Christmas Party/Childrens' party at Mcdonalds. It was one of the coolest parties I've ever attended. Having kids at a party really change your mood, their little antics and sweet nothings will really warm your heart. My supervisor's child and I had a photo at a Christmas tree and you know what he did? He hid behind my legs and grasp my pants, haha... It made me like whoa! :)

Thanks Mommy Dory for the awesome gift! You just don't know how much I appreciate.

Moving back to the gift. Remember the book that I was having a hard time finding? Guess what, I already had it.

Yipee! It really made my night. I can't even wait to finish this post and read it right away. Haha. Just a trivia about the book. It was made into a series. I remember watching it one Holy week, here is the lead, his name is Paul Wesley.

Isn't he hot or what? Haha.

Short post muna, gotta read the book na.

Good morning. :)

Thanks Ayla!

It all started with a plan. I joined. I met my partner. Then, I received my gift!

Ayla and I met a while ago at Moonleaf. I tagged along my friend, Dale, in case I will get lost at Teacher’s Village. I was really nervous meeting my partner and having Dale with me really helped me a lot.

I really get tense when meeting new people. Sometimes, I really turn out shy. Most of the times, I tend to be quiet, and let the other person do most of the talking.

Good thing, Ayla was really nice to both of us. She shared a lot of things and Dale and I really learned a lot from her. She also ask questions that really made me talk a lot. She made the two of us comfortable. Pasensiya na if we get distracted most of the time, andami kasing cute sa Moonleaf kanina! Haha!

Thanks Ayla for the fancy orange neck tie, I love it a lot. Salamat din for introducing us to a new tambayan. Sa uulitin ha, sa Moonleaf ulet.

Thanks PM for the awesome idea. I really had fun. Next year ulet… Meet din tayo ha. :)

Food Intake For The Last 24 Hours

It has been a festive 24 hours.

Last night we had pizza in the office. Blame it on my pregnant officemate who cannot keep her appetite in place. Every time she eats, we also eat. Who cares if we get sleepy? Eating became our bonding moment in the night shift.

Today, I tried two things.

First is Four Fingers, which is originally from Singapore, in SM North. They just opened, and I was really excited to try their food because, my friend, Nate is one of the Branch’s Bosses. I tried their Chicken Wrap. It was the best Chicken Wrap I tasted. It also goes with fries that have herbs on it. It tastes different. It also goes along with salsa and kalamansi which I don’t know how to use. Haha! I don’t have pictures though; I just got the images below from the web. Here are the other food that they offer. :)

The food is really awesome. Its affordable and worth every peso that you will spend.

After that, my friend, Dale, and I went to Moonleaf Tea Shop. The shop was introduced to us by Ayla. We were really anxious at first. My friend and I are really not tea drinkers. It will be our first time drinking milk tea. I love coffee, it gives me energy. I really don’t drink tea a lot because my tummy reacts violently every time I try drinking it.

Aside from that, we were worried that it may cost much. You know, milk tea is the trend now. But we were really surprised how affordable it is.

Another thing, we also don’t know what we will order. So we just relied on what the Cashier said their best seller was, Wintermelon Milk Tea! Guess what, Dale and I loved it! We also ordered their awesome Orange Cupcakes that taste like heaven.

Having my first milk tea was really exciting. I never expected the outcome, but definitely, I will be back at Moonleaf anytime soon.

Alam ko, matakaw ako, hahaha!

The Poem, A Thousand Splendid Suns

Siyempre pangatlong post ko na ito for today, pasensiya naman, naka hiatus ako we. Pak!
After I read A Thousand Splendid Suns, I really got curious why such is the title of the book. How can you relate two woman who suffered tremendously to a A Thousand Splendid Suns?  According to Khaled Hosseini, the title comes from a poem.
After typing the name of the poem in Google doing a lot of research , I was able to find the Poem.
A Thousand Splendid Suns
By Saib-e-Tabrizi
Ah! How beautiful is Kabul encircled by her arid mountains
And Rose, of the trails of thorns she envies
Her gusts of powdered soil, slightly sting my eyes
But I love her, for knowing and loving are born of this same dust
My song exhalts her dazzling tulips
And at the beauty of her trees, I blush
How sparkling the water flows from Pul-I Bastaan!
May Allah protect such beauty from the evil eye of man!
Khizr chose the path to Kabul in order to reach Paradise
For her mountains brought him close to the delights of heaven
From the fort with sprawling walls, A Dragon of protection
Each stone is there more precious than the treasure of Shayagan
Every street of Kabul is enthralling to the eye
Through the bazaars, caravans of Egypt pass
One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs
And the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls
Her laughter of mornings has the gaiety of flowers
Her nights of darkness, the reflections of lustrous hair
Her melodious nightingales, with passion sing their songs
Ardent tunes, as leaves enflamed, cascading from their throats
And I, I sing in the gardens of Jahanara, of Sharbara
And even the trumpets of heaven envy their green pastures
Now I understand. In the poem, A Thousand Splendid Suns pertains to Kabul’s woman. I can now sleep and move on with my life. Haha.

Wishlist 2011

On Friday, our Department’s Christmas party will take place. It will be more of a Children’s party because my officemate’s children will be there. Venue will be at McDonalds, complete with the program and games, the normal stuff that you get when you get a Children’s Party Package from them. My officemates are crazy. Haha! But, it sounds fun.

Christmas party will not be complete without exchange gifts. One of my officemates created a new system where we will have code names, haha, last year kasi pangalan lang. Disney Characters. Since I was late in sending my code name, the event organizer/officemate in charge of the party chose a name for me. Captain Hook! Bang! If I have to choose my name, I’d prefer Cruella Devil. Haha!

Enter, Department’s Christmas Party Wishlist!

Don’t worry, I will not ask for something orange. I know my officemates, and since we’re close, I really looked for stuff that will give them a hard time. And here they are.

First One, The Fallen and Leviathan by Thomas E. Sniegoski. I was really having a hard time finding this book. I already looked at all Book Store possible however they only have book 2 and book 3. I specifically emphasized on my list that if they will not get Book 1, never get Book 2 or Book 3. Demanding much, haha. You will not be able to ready book 2 and book 3 without reading book 1.

Second, The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho. I think this is the only novel of Paulo Coelho that I haven’t read. So, why not have my office mate pay for it, right?

Last, Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. The book cover looks interesting, and basing it on how the cover looks, for sure it will talk about Angels falling in love with Humans.

Price of the gift should be more than PHP 300.00! Goodluck nalang sa nakabunot sa kin. :)

Report Card 2011

I got the idea from Gillboard. It was a boring night in the office and my eyes got sleepy reading Sherlock Holmes’ “The Valley of Fear.” Also, this will be my first time doing this. Grading myself makes me nervous. I know it’s really narcissistic, but if I will not do this I will not have anything that will show if I grow or if there is any possibility if I’ve improved.

Let me tell you how it works first, I will grade myself in five aspects, like what Gillboard did. The six criteria (wow!) will be career, social life, love life, blog life, health and savings. Grades will be like the number that is shown on a normal report card, highest will be 100%, and lowest will be 75%. Fair enough. Grading will take place annually. Since this will be my first time doing this, the results will be my standard for next year.

With these criteria, I really have to use my QA skills this time. I have to be complacent, analytical, objective enough, and just rely on factual observations.

Here we go.

Basically, I did well this year. I already consider it an achievement staying on a company for two years. Yeah, before I have thoughts of resigning, and just go back to the Call Center Industry where definitely the salary is greater. But, I was able to stay.

I am also thinking how I was able to do it. I know that what I am getting now is way below than what I use to get before, but there are certain things in my company now that really make me stick with it. Aside from the bonuses being evenly distributed throughout the year, I guess what makes me stay is, unlike my job before, I don’t feel that I am stuck. Every day, I am learning something. Work is also easy. There will be days where I will be busy; hence, petiks is also abundant.

I think I just start aiming for a promotion in order to increase my grade next year.

I made a lot of friends this year. Aside from that, I was able to establish really good relationships with my clan mates, office mates both here and abroad, and my housemates. Definitely, I was still the shy kid who gets awkward in social occasions however gaining my friends and having them understand my moods and attitude is already bliss.

I know I fail with this one. This past year, I am single. Though it was really my choice, I know I could have done better. I could have gone out on dates, be friendly to people who showed interests on me, yadah yadah yadah. But, being this way makes me better.

A friend once said that being single is not a problem that needs to be solved. I think I just have to rely on that for the meantime.

I know I aced this. Haha. From almost not blogging, to having 15 wonderful followers, above 5000 hits, and greater than 100 posts, I am really proud of myself. This is really starting to be an I-Love –Myself post. Haha.

Though I know I still have a lot to improve. I know my blogging skills is not that superb, maybe I need to really learn how to edit my page, or do better on my writing skills, I should also get my own camera and maybe stop blogging on a computer shop. haha!

Makauwi na nga ng Sariaya, makuha na ang laptop!

I failed. I will definitely start on this aspect next year. Maybe I should stop indulging on good food and wonderful books. Haha. Enough said. :p

Probably, if I don’t smoke, my grade will be higher. But I am still not ready to give it up yet, promise, I will work on it next year.

I was also sent to a hospital this year because of stress related chest pain. I will definitely work on not getting that serious with things.

Aside from that, all my sickness was reasons to party. Yeah, baby!

Now I have to average my score, this part makes me nervous. :)

AVERAGE: 84.33%

Whew, I thought I will fail big time, but this is good enough.

It’s nice doing this. It was scary at first but it’s comforting. Knowing how well and poor you did, and understanding what you have to work on in the coming year calms my nerves.

Right now, there is no other way but to go up.

Thanks Gillboard for the amazing idea! Your turn, how well did you do this year?

A Thousand Splendid Suns

I’ve been a fan of Khaled Hosseini after I read the book, The Kite Runner. My landlady asks me to create a book report on it. I thought that the book was really excellent. It has something heartwarming on it. My interest in Hosseini’s work intensified that I started reading about Afghanistan in the office.

That was also the time I learned about A Thousand Splendid Suns.

A Thousand Splendid Suns was a story about two Afghan girls – Miriam and Laila. Miriam, an illegitimate child, never have a happy life, her mother committed suicide because she chose her father over her mom. She was then force by her father to marry a man who was old enough to be her uncle. She lost her baby seven consecutive times. Lastly, she was badly beaten by her husband. Poor girl.

Laila, on the other hand, was born on the same neighborhood where Miriam and Rasheed (Miriam’s husband) lived. She was way younger than the two and has a childhood sweetheart named Tariq. When the war in Afghanistan started and people started moving out of the country for safety, Tariq ask Laila to marry him. She refused Tariq’s offer, and when her family decided to leave Kabul, her parents were killed by a rocket. Rasheed and Miriam found her under the crashed structure and advised her to leave with them.

Here was the fun part; Laila was Rasheed’s second wife. Laila accepted the offer because she have Tariq’s baby.

They started as enemies but as the story progressed, Laila and Miriam became more than friends, they started treating each others like families. Rasheed, the mad man that he was, badly beat his wives. There was even a part where the two of them, including Laila’s baby, were deprived with water, when the two of them tried to escape Kabul. In the end, Rasheed was killed by Miriam when he tried to kill Laila because Tariq was back in the picture.

Miriam suffered a painful death under the Taliban’s rule. Laila, however, returned to Afghanistan to become a teacher when the war was over.

What was so cool about the book was, aside from sharing the two girls’ story, it also features the story of Afghanistan – how the war started, how the Taliban came to power, how they got defeated, stuff like that. It’s like reading a history book with the touch of drama on it.

It was a sad book. Really, most of the time while I was reading it, I was sincerely hoping that it was really fiction and stuff like that never happened. But, it was Afghanistan and for sure torture and brutality happened. Reading the book made me so thankful that I am here in Manila and not in a place where watching television was prohibited while growing beard was a must. I started feeling fortunate that I was able to eat three times a day while in Kabul, people has to send their children to orphanages just to feed them. I’m happy living in a free country, though sometimes things get rough, we still survived.

After I read the book, I promised myself that I will try to stop complaining on stuff that are not even worthy to complain about. I know, things may get hard sometimes, but we don’t know what is happening somewhere else. Sometimes, whatever we have right now, how minute or grand it may seems, we still have to be thankful for all the blessings that we receive.

All of a sudden, I want to go to Kabul. Haha.

So, Tyra Banks decided to write. For sure there will be stuff about fashion, modelling and a lot of empowering your inner beauty. I am correct.

Modelland was a story of a girl named Tooke. She has weird features – big ears, big forehead, hair that has multiple personality, stick figured, and she has one green eye and the other one, brown. Tooke also had a crazy family who treated her like crap, a mother who treated a doll like a real person, a father who used to be a circus artist, and a sister who gets all their family attention.Tooke remained unnoticed. She was a forgetta-girl. Someone who dreams that one day, someone will notice her, that she will become people will remember. Until she got picked to be one of the student of Modelland.

Modelland was a place where supermodels, or as the book quote them, Intoxibellas study, trained, and become feirce. It’s like a dreamland for models. Blood orange scent, rooms that has weird stair cases, a spa where you can choose your own environment to relax, weird creatures that act as butlers, a runway where you can change clothes in split seconds, and a lot of other fictional things that makes Modelland a place that people will really kill for just to get inside. It’s a model’s paradise, something like Hogwarts however instead of being a wizard, you will be a Intoxibella.

Reading a lot of books, the theme seemed predictable. A lead will begin the story as an underdog, who will discover a magical place, will get some friends who will act as her side kicks, then will become the book’s hero. Yeah, I’ve read a lot of books like that before. The setting is just different because we are talking about fashion and models. However, the theme was something I expected – believing in yourself.

I just hope that the story were written better. No offense, Tyra, I love all the things that you’ve done however the book could have been superb if the stories did not became that common.

The book also has the longest acknowledgment I’ve ever read. Haha.

Modelland is something that I can recommend. If you are into style and fashion and all the things about being and loving yourself, Modelland is the book for you.

Christmas Party!

Last night was our Christmas Party. It was held on the same building where I am working. I am really not into parties, but since I really don’t have much to do last night, why not try attending?

The Good Stuff

Food was good! Hahaha. What we ate last night, were stuff I am not familiar with. They have beef something, chicken something, pasta with Italian sausage on it, and a lot of other good stuff I don’t even have any idea with. Haha. We also had Lechon and B-B-Q that were superb!

Venue was nice. Since it was held on a hotel, its expected. However something make the whole place so cozy and grand. Tables were set with Christmas Decors, maraming Christmas balls.

Our Department won First Place. Haha. Merry na ang Christmas Party, wala ng ambagan ng 350. :)

The Bad Stuff

There were really two things that irritated me last night, first was the service of the Hotel, and next will be the Photo Booth.

If you have good food, you will expect that good drinks will be serve, right? However, last night, I already finished my plate and no Iced Tea were served. Water was also scarce. I have to even ask three different waiters just to have a glass, tsk tsk.

Photo booth were rented by the company for three hours, I guess. They started at around four in the afternoon. What time were we on the venue, 6:30! Pak! The photo shoot guy were really rushing and asking us to hurry up. Even the employee who were in charge said that “it was the prize of being late.”  Well, we were not late, I was aware that the party will start at six, and my office mates still have duty that day.

Hence, I had fun last night. It always nice being with people that you work with in a different environment – without the stress, the deadlines, and the small cat fights that you either have on emails or on the phone. :)  It’s always fun having fun, especially with the people that you both hate and love. :)

Merry Christmas every one.

Random Orange

Another team mate got pregnant. It’s good news because another member will be added in our little family in the office. On the downside, she needs to go on bed rest for a week. That means, no one should go on unplanned leave because we are under staff again.

Every time someone I knew got pregnant, my respect for woman intensified. I know its hard having a baby, the physical and emotional aspect of it seems frightening. However, I asked my friend who just gave birth on her first baby how it really felt giving birth, she just told me that “it’s one of the best thing that happened to her.”

I still haven’t moved out. The house that I planned to get is now occupied, damn you, SSS for delaying my salary loan. Haha. Now, I am still asking my contacts in V. Luna if they can get me a room or a house where I can stay. I really want to move out before I change my schedule this coming January.

Next month, I will be on morning shift. I really don’t want to change my schedule. However, my superiors informed me on our previous meeting that our HR Team started to notice that I was on night shift almost a year, now. Changing my schedule next month is already mandatory. But I am still planning how I can stir things up.

I am really not use to going to work in the morning. Basing it on experience, I am more productive whenever I work at night. I also noticed that whenever I work in the morning, sometimes, I am late. Most of the time, I am on unplanned leave.

I’d rather stay working in the evening.

I already received an email from Ms. N that she already received the books! I am just waiting for the pictures. This is really exciting. I can’t wait to see the children’s reactions the moment they received my Christmas Gift.

A Thousand Splendid Suns/Modelland

I am currently reading two books now. Not at the same time of course, haha, that’s crazy!

The first book, I am reading at home. I discovered the author when my landlady asked me to create a book report. Its a story of two girls from Afghanistan. From what I’ve read, its better than Kite Runner. Well, We’ll See…

The other one, I read at the office. I discovered it while watching the last episode of ANTM. It’s written by Tyra Banks, I’ve tried looking for it at any bookstore here in Manila, however it just not available. So I just downloaded the PDF file and read it at the office. The story is good so far. It’s pretty interesting.

Orange loves reading! :)

Enjoy your Saturday!

What’s In the Bag?

It is never easy shopping for books. But it is a different story when you have to shop for 3rd Graders that you haven’t even met.

All I know is that they were third graders –- partly innocent and partly adolescent. I don’t even know what they are studying, or how much things do they know already. So I just relied on what I want the kids to learn from the books that I will send them. I also want to encourage them more so the items must be fun.

After the long process of budgeting and choosing the perfect items, I ended getting a Collection of Short Stories, A fable, and something that they will make english fun. :)

This was not the one we got, I cannot find the cover of the one we bought. Peace naman. :)

So, What do you think? Okay ba? :)
